Welcome back!  Part 2 of the Leeroy Jenkins series kicks off with another video of the famed video game superstar.  As the Leeroy Jenkins sensation swept the nation, it was only a matter of time before television picked up on it.  I was in shock when I first saw this, but Leeroy actually made it onto Jeopardy as a part of a $1000 question.  This first aired on November 16, 2005.  Watch the short clip below.

Can you believe that all three college students were stumped?  Maybe you can.  I can't!  I really don't know which part is scarier though, the fact that they were stumped, or the fact that Leeroy Jenkins was labelled as a hero on national television.  What is the world coming to?  I grabbed some fast facts from the Leeroy Jenkins entry on Wikipedia.

  • Leeroy Jenkins is sometimes mis-spelled as Leroy Jenkins and often elongated with numerous additional letters.
  • Leroy Jenkins (as mis-spelled) is actually a popular jazz musician.
  • Leeroy is not a real person, but a character created by player Ben Schultz for WoW .
  • The Leeroy saga made it to print in the August 2005 issue of PC Gamer UK.
  • The player was included in the WoW Trading Card Game.
  • Late in 2008, it is expected that a WoW minatures game will be released - with a Leeroy Jenkins figurine.
  • A 2007 Toyota Tacoma commercial spoofs Leeroy.
  • In 2008, Linkin Park DJ Joe Hahn started using Leeroy Jenkins sample clips in the intros to live performances.

The Toyota video is great, check it out below.
